Greenbelt Gig Sketches 2014

I went to Greenbelt Festival last weekend and did some gig sketches while I was there. On Friday night I saw  The Hackney Colliery Band and Stonoway preform on the Glade stage.

On Saturday I saw Levi Hummon, Dizraeli and the Small gods and Ellie Rose.

And on Sunday we went to The Rising in the Big Top which included Martyn Joseph, Rory Butler, Heather Hind and Chris T-T.

I doodled some of my own characters while I was at the festival. They don't have names yet because I'm trying not to get attached to them early in case the story requires design changes.

Greenbelt and Gig Sketches

I really enjoy drawing when I watch live music. I started doing it for practice because of my Giant Rhinos In Space graphic novel/comic project is all about a band. I think it really helps with getting the cartoon characters into more natural poses. These sketches are of  Jenny Lockyer, Helen Arney and The Unthanks from their performances at Greenbelt Festival. I have a gallery of gig sketches over on Flickr.
