Autumn Projects

I made some activity pages for the local church fair. The place-mat and reward chart were designed to be laminated and children could fill out the puzzles and then wipe away and reuse the page. I've not designed puzzles before so it was very interesting.

This autumn I sketched storyboards for a short film student project. The film is called Danny by Alexandra Jones, Shayna Joynes, Rebecca Lawler and Joshua Patrick.

Autumn Events

These photos are from London MCM Expo and the Birmingham Zine Festival's Independent Publishing Fair. Thanks to everyone who bought our comics and zines and said hi. I took the photos so Sarah Fogg from Inspired Comics Collective is in both pictures. The next event we'll be at is Thought Bubble and you'll be able to find us on table 162 in New Dock Hall.

I recently finished and printed my webcomic, Jumping The Shark. (The sequel to Best Day Ever) The printed version contains a bonus comic and some extra illustrations in the back pages. Both books are already available from my Etsy shop.

Zines!

Sarah and I have been having fun making our own music zine. It contains articles, illustrations and comics featuring Blur, The Kinks, Everything Everything, Peace, Gorillaz, De La Soul, Little Dragon, Helen Arney, Bellatrix, Gil Scott-Heron, Ghostpoet, DANGER DOOM, The Subways, The Clash, Elastica, Phillipa Hannah, The Unthanks and Young Knives. We're realising it tomorrow at the Birmingham Zine Fair and it's available to buy through my etsy shop.

The music zine contains the forth Giant Rhinos Mini Comic. Wayne gets shunned by a cat and it effects his song writing competition entry. www.giantrhinos.co.uk

The music also has a Stale Symphony comic which features a new character, Al the Alpaca!

Sarah and Lily are also releasing What's The Time Mrs. Woolf Issue 6 at the zine fair! For a detailed preview of visit their blog.

Portraits and Personal Commissions

I've recently added a new page to this site so that I could list information about portraits and personal commissions. I had fun picking people from my favourite films and tv shows as examples. Price lists and more examples are on this page.

Example: Lianne La Havas (musician)

Example: Spaced (TV Series)

Example: Those Of No Class by En Gingerboom

This summer I have been working on several short story comics to submit to a variety of anthologies and zines. I will announce here them as they are confirmed and released later in the year.

Inspired Comics are currently arranging tables at comics events in the autumn. So far we can confirm we will be at Thought Bubble in the Saviles Hall.

Smoothie Wars and Bristol Comic Expo

Smoothie Wars is an old webcomic comic short story I drew in the summer of 2010. I recently created a comic about some of the same characters for this years Inspired anthology, so I decided to do this limited print run of mini comics. They are available now through my Etsy shop.

Last weekend I went to Bristol Comics Expo with Inspired Comics. Thank you very much if you stopped by to say hello or buy a comic! What's The Time Mrs. Woolf? issue 4 was released at the event, and contains a new Silly Symphonies comic.

I also took part in Timothy Winchester's Boyfriend Week - To celebrate his webcomic reaching 500 pages! You can read People I Know here!

March 2012 Illustration and Comics

I've been trying to stargaze more recently but it's difficult in a garden in the city. This is a planisphere of the constellations that surround the polestar. I didn't know the stories behind a lot of the constellation names so it was fun finding out, and hopefully will help me remember the shapes better when I'm looking for them in the sky.

This is another illustration I made for fun. The card game should work but theres only 8 designs so far.

I'm working on a short story comic for the next Inspired anthology. We're hoping to launch it in May and I will be updating their blog with design and development work from the group over the next couple of months.
