Thought Bubble 2017

Thanks to everyone who came by my table at Thought Bubble! I had a lovely time bumping into so many friends over the weekend.

I've got a full table at Coventry Comic Con tomorrow - so I'll be bringing all the usual comics and zines plus a folder of ink drawings! I'm offering ink portrait commissions starting at £15. I've still got hundreds of free mini comics to hand out at events so please come say hi! You'll be able to find me at Table 24.

Glasgow MCM Comic Con

Thank you so much to everyone at Glasgow Comic Con this year! The crowd at Scottish shows are always so friendly and enthusiastic about comics it's great. I took some example portraits of my friend Sarah Fogg - thank you to everyone who ordered a commission! I was stuck on the coach most of yesterday and couldn't draw because of motion sickness, I was able to post most of them out today but I've got a couple to finish tonight which will dispatch tomorrow at the latest.

I'm going to be at Nostalgia & Comics (Birmingham) for Small Press Day this Saturday. There will be a change over of different creators throughout the day - I'll be around in the morning slot between 10.30am-12.15pm so I can go draw bands at Godiva Festival in the afternoon.

Thought Bubble, Birmingham MCM and Grimes Fanzine

Thank you so much to everyone at Thought Bubble this weekend! I had such a awesome time in the Royal Armouries Hall with my table neighbours A Little Lost Caterpillar, Ink and Booze,  Paddy Johnston & Samuel C Williams.

Special thank you to Charlotte from Laydeez Do Comics Birmingham for watching my table so I could visit the other halls and pick up some beautiful comics!

The last convention of the year will be Birmingham MCM Comic Con this weekend! You’ll be able to find table CG4 in the Comic Village section of the hall. I will be taking all the comics, zines and merchandise in the Thought Bubble photos along with a folder of original drawings. Please come and say hi and pick up a free mini comic!

Yesterday I announced a Grimes Fanzine with open submissions! Please visit my music blog www.thatmusiczine.tumblr.com/grimes for more information!

Personal Commission - The Smith's

I have a price list online for personal commissions - ideal if you'd like to give someone a portrait for their birthday or anniversary or something specific to hang on your own wall. I can send an original ink drawing through the post and/or a full colour digital file for you to print. If you would like comic pages commissioned there might be an extra charge for the time it takes to plan and thumbnail page layouts and add lettering. (contact information available on the price list page)

Talk Music Podcast - KT Tunstall

I illustrated podcast art work and KT Tunstall's hilarious anecdotes for Scott Cowie's Talk Music podcast. You can listen to the full interview via soundcloud, or go to www.scottcowie.com for more Talk Music podcasts

St. Vincent Portrait and Gigsketches

I went to see St. Vincent play at the Roundhouse when I was in London MCM Expo last weekend. The show was absolutely amazing. The audience were asked not to record the show digitally, but I still did a couple of sketches while I was there. I couldn't resist drawing a full illustration one I got home. The last set of sketches are of the warm up band, Coves.

Leamington Zine #5

I drew a small autobio comic for Leamington Zine about getting a haircut. The theme this time was new beginnings. LZ stock listings and online files to past zines can be found on their Facebook page.

Portrait Commissions

Over the summer I did a series of portraits for a personal commission. It was fun designing all those killer clowns. If you would like more information on commissions please visit this page for examples and a rough price guide. Thank you.

I have added some extra comics and zine fairs this autumn, see the blog sidebar for the current list.

Character Designs

These are character designs for a short story comic I'm hoping to find time to draw draw next year. They are college friends. They are all fun to draw because of their over exaggerated features.
