ICE and Moseley Folk Festival 2015

I had a table at ICE (International Comic Expo) in Birmingham on Saturday and I also helped out at Moseley Folk Festival over the weekend. Unfortunately the busy Friday meant I opened my suitcase on Saturday morning to find I hadn't packed any copies of Giant Rhinos In Space #3 - I'm really sorry for the inconvenience and I will be posting them out to people who bought bundles later today. I had a lot of fun sharing the table with Laura Watton/PinkAppleJam - thank you to everyone who came by to chat about pens and comics!!

My next event will be Scotland MCM Comic Con in Glasgow - I don't have the details of my table location yet, but it will be somewhere in the Comic Village. My friends have told me good things about this show so I'm really excited to take my comics to Scotland for the first time. I have a up to date list of events in the sidebar - if you can't make it to any I also have an Etsy shop with comics and original drawings for sale. Thank you!

Misc Fits & Mancstercon 2015

Over the summer I've been working on a new series of slice of life short stories called Misc Fits. You can follow The Sea Apple online with a new page at 12noon every Tuesday and Wednesday via Tumblr, Smack Jeeves or Tapastic. The print copies of the first story arrived early and are now available to order through my Etsy shop. I also have a up to date list of confirmed events I'm attending in autumn in the blog side bar - starting with ICE (International Comics Expo) in central Birmingham on Saturday 5th September. I'll be sharing a table with Laura Watton and you'll be able to find us at table 4 in the 'Innovate' room.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Laydeez Do Comics for the opportunity to sell my work from their table at Mancstercon yesterday and to my parents for the lift to the event. Thank you to everyone who came by to chat or buy comics - the event was lovely and I had a nice time chilling out and meeting some new people.

I'm going to be doing a presentation at the next Laydeez Do Comics Birmingham event. I'll be taking along some of the original Misc Fits pages for people to look at and talk a bit about my current comics process. I don't have the full details on the other 2 presentations yet, but the event itself will be at 7.30-9.30pm on Thursday 1st October at the Green Room Cafebar (opposite the Hippodrome in Birmingham City Center - not far from New Street station)

Misc Fits - The Sea Apple

Misc Fits launched today! New pages will be updated at 12noon every Tuesday and Friday and you can read via Tumblr , Smack Jeeves and Tapastic. I'm hoping to release a print version of the comic in the autumn (see the side bar for a up to date list of events).

Manchester MCM Comic Con 2015

 

 

I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came by my table at Manchester MCM Comic Con last weekend - I had a amazing time! My next convention will be at ICE - that’s International Comics Expo in Birmingham city center (not far from New Street) on Saturday 5th September 2015. Laydeez Do Comics Birmingham is meeting next week! 6pm on Monday 3rd August - Guest speakers are Selina Locke, Hunt Emerson, Charlotta Salmi & Alex Birch - more info about the event at the LDC Birmingham Facebook page. (you don’t have to be female to attend the event)

Personal Commission - The Smith's

I have a price list online for personal commissions - ideal if you'd like to give someone a portrait for their birthday or anniversary or something specific to hang on your own wall. I can send an original ink drawing through the post and/or a full colour digital file for you to print. If you would like comic pages commissioned there might be an extra charge for the time it takes to plan and thumbnail page layouts and add lettering. Annie and the Tectonic Plates

Annie and the Tectonic Plates are a band of aliens from my comic Giant Rhinos In Space. I designed a fictional gig poster to take to Manchester MCM Comic Con at the end of July. You'll be able to find my table in the Comic Village (maps haven't been released yet - but should available online nearer the event and at at the show)

The posters should be available to order though Etsy in a couple of weeks time. Print copies of issues 1-3 are available to buy individually or in bundle offers.

London MCM Comic Con May 2015

Giant Rhinos In Space #3 in print!

Giant Rhinos In Space is a comic about a band who get kidnapped by aliens and find themselves competing in a extraterrestrial x-factor. You can read the story so far via Smack Jeeves or Tapastic.
 
Issue 3 has just been released in print and you can order online through Etsy. Each issue is £3.50 or you can choose a bundle offer - any 2 issues for £6 (save £1) or all 3 issues for £7.50 (save £1.50)

The comics will also be available at London MCM Comic Con - Friday 22nd-Sunday 24th May.

You’ll be able to find ‘Sammy Borras & Sarah Fogg’ at table CG6 in the Comic Village (maps and ceiling banners are usually available at the show). There will be FREE MINI COMICS to hand out - the secret password is ‘Do you have a business card?’

Record Store Day 2015

I went down to London for Gosh! Comics Record Store Day events. I had a great time with One Beat Zines painting St. Vincent next to Lizz Lunney’s Street Dogs and Eleni Kalokoti’s and Laura Callaghan‘s dancing girls. I dropped off a couple of copies of This Is Not A Serious Music Publication and Giant Rhinos In Space #1 and #2.

I recently set up a music blog on tumblr called That Music Zine. I've been having fun posting illustrations for spring album releases, ukulele designs for Adventure Time characters and gig sketches.
